Ping Pong

Ping Pong is an association of artists dedicated to the organisation of international artist exchange projects. This exhibition was the second leg of an exchange between French artists from in Clermont Ferrand and artists based in Salford, England.

The idea for this exchange was specifically to make work that responded directly to the locality and physical nature of the venues selected for each reciprocal exhibition.


Misshapes

My response to the Gallery was to draw attention to the intimate nature of its labyrinthine spaces and to work with the patination or aged textures of the gallery walls. The found, plastic, extruded forms were painted and resurfaced to highlight their organic shapes and to suggest growth – reminiscent of fungus or mineral seepage.
