This series of drawings was created in response to a short stay in the Sibylline Mountains in Italy.
The project takes as a starting point a real life and dramatic event witnessed by the artist on there on midsummer solstice in 2013 and interpreted as a contemporary version of the legend of the Apennine Sybil. On that occasion, the summer equinox coincided with the full moon at its the point nearest the earth in a phenomenon known as Perigee. The Apennine Sybil is a cave dwelling goddess known for her revelry and celebration of feminine delights.
